Not a fan. But he was funny, completely unpredictable.
We will never be allowed to enjoy characters like this anymore.

Starr had some bollocks to do this. Could've gone very badly wrong.

yes, I liked him. one of the reasons I liked des o'connor is he was one of the few hosts who'd have him on. most were terrified of him :.)

Saw him at The Circus Tavern many moons ago, laughed for the whole 2 hours he was on stage, probably outdated humour now and wouldn’t raise a titter.

Much like Cannon & Ball, Little & Large, Bobby Davro, Russ Abbot etc his humour definitely didn’t age well beyond the 80s.

Very good but very much of his time. Would be very high on the snowflake hit list now.
Can you imagine the clog Dick Emery would get today for daring to impersonate a woman?

An extremely funny old school clever and underrated comedian. It was scandalous how yewtree went after him. It completely destroyed him

Yeah agreed, Freddie Starr was probably the only man to have scared the life out of Muhammed Ali

What was that programme he started out on in the early 70's, who or how do you do?
His Max Wall impression was brilliant. As was the Gestapo Officer wearing wellies.......not sure that would go down too well today tho!

Lato, did a great Mick Jagger as well
The most clever thing he did, was to sing speed up and slow down with a song, fucking hilarious

I never liked him as a kid. Was too unpredictable and too silly. I never got my dad cracking up at him. But as i got older I realised how funny he was. Played the jester but his act was very orchestrated and choreographed.
Very of his time. His stuff with Des O'Connor is hilarious. You won't ever see the likes of him again.
